1 Answer Sorted by: 4 There is no way to transfer a character between leagues “on demand”. Generally speaking, you’ll have to create a new character in the league your friends are in. Or they’ll have to create one in yours. However, leagues can have rules concerning character transferral/demotion to a different league.

Characters are tied to specific leagues, in order to play in Standard you have to make a new character and choose Standard as its league when it asks you (or wait until Warbands ends, after which all characters from it will be moved to Standard).
the Torment league will end in a few months, then all its chaarcters will be moved to Standard league. Upon challenge leagues end: Characters move to the parent league (Torment->Standard), non-empty stash tabs are moved to the parent league as remove-only stash tabs (so you get temporary additional storage that you can only get your things out of, but not use for new items).
